We're seeking a BMS Business Development Manager to lead growth efforts for one of our client's commercial controls divisions. Our client is an established player in the building automation space with a strong engineering backbone, long-standing contractor relationships, and a project portfolio spanning healthcare, education, and large commercial facilities. Their leadership team has built a reputation for technical depth and consistent delivery, which gives this seat real ammunition in the field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and close new business across mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, and end-user facility teams
- Build account strategies that convert specifications into booked projects and recurring service agreements
- Lead discovery meetings, site walks, and solution presentations for retrofit and New construction opportunities
- Partner with internal estimating and engineering teams to scope, price, and proposal complex control system projects
- Maintain accurate pipeline data, forecasts, and activity records inside the company CRM
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical sales experience within building automation, controls, or mechanical systems
- Working knowledge of BMS platforms, HVAC equipment, and energy management strategies
- Proven track record selling into engineering firms and facility contractors
- Strong technical presentation skills with the ability to translate system architecture into business value
- Experience managing a multi-stage sales cycle on technical product or solution sales
- Comfort reading mechanical drawings, sequences of operation, and project specifications
- Self-directed pipeline management and disciplined CRM hygiene
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred
