Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a BMET Supervisor to lead the biomedical engineering team responsible for preventative maintenance, repair and calibration of medical equipment across our facilities. The role requires travel within the network, shifts including weekends and holidays, and on-call coverage to support patient care.

Candidates should have a BS or AS in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology with extensive BMET experience, knowledge of FDA/JCAHO standards, and

Qualifications

FDA, Joint Commission, CMMS and NJDOH standards knowledge.
Understanding of electronic and mechanical medical devices.
Ability to operate and document patient care equipment use.
Familiarity with device recalls and regulatory requirements.
Experience with project management terminology and concepts.

Responsibilities

Supervise technical staff in preventive maintenance, repair and calibration of medical equipment.
Oversee equipment installation and related department functions.
Coordinate training travel and on-site/off-site sessions; support weekend/holiday coverage.
Respond to escalations and provide 24x7 backup as needed.

Education

BS in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology

AS in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology

GED/HS diploma + 12 years BMET experience

Military BMET program + 10 years BMET exp
