Qualifications

• BS in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology with 8+ BMET years, or AS with 10+ BMET years, or GED with 12 BMET years.
• Demonstrated understanding of FDA, Joint Commission, CMMS, and NJDOH standards.
• Demonstrated understanding of electronic/mechanical patient care devices and ability to interpret manufacturer documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversees BMET day-to-day operations: preventive maintenance, testing, repair, calibration, and documentation.
• Manages BMET staffing, scheduling, recruitment, evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory processes (FDA, CMS, NJDOH) and maintains equipment records.
• Provides on-call coverage and travel for training/seminars as required.
• Trains and mentors BMET staff; manages inventory and parts procurement.
