Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an experienced Biomedical Engineering Supervisor to lead the BMET team in preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs of medical devices. You will supervise scheduling, training, and performance evaluations while ensuring regulatory compliance across CMS, FDA, NJDOH requirements.

The role requires travel within the HMH network, potential overnight stays, and on-call coverage, with opportunities to mentor staff and improve device reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• BS in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology with 8 years BMET work experience, or AS with 10 years BMET work experience, or military BMET program with 10 years BMET work experience, or HS diploma with 12 years BMET work experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of FDA, Joint Commission, CMMS, and NJDOH standards.
• Knowledge of patient care medical device operation and support systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day BMET operations including preventive maintenance, testing, repair, calibration, and documentation.
• Manage BMET team scheduling, recruitment, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Test and calibrate medical devices prior to patient care use and troubleshoot devices in clinical and bench settings.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory processes and support integration with device software/hardware systems.
