Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe is seeking a dependable Custodial Maintenance team member at the Blyn Campus. The role includes routine custodial duties, light maintenance, groundskeeping, and event support.

You will help keep the campus clean, safe, and welcoming for employees, Tribal citizens, guests, and visitors. Located in Sequim, WA, the position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting a busy team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial tasks: sweeping, mopping, restocking supplies.
• Light maintenance: replace lights, fixtures, or faucets as needed.
• Maintain groundskeeping tasks and report safety concerns.
• Empty trash and dispose waste properly; assist with snow removal.
• Support events with set-up and breakdown activities.

Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe | Blyn CampusSchedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PMThe Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodial Maintenance team member to help maintain clean, safe, and orderly facilities and grounds at the Blyn Campus. This position performs routine custodial, groundskeeping, and light maintenance duties and plays an important role in keeping our campus welcoming and well-maintained for employees, Tribal citizens, guests, and visitors.If you take pride in your work, enjoy staying active, and are comfortable working independently while supporting a busy team, we encourage you to apply!Essential FunctionsPerform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing and waxing floors, walls and woodwork; dusting furniture and equipment; emptying and cleaning ash trays and wastebaskets; polishing furniture and metal fixtures; vacuuming rugs, curtains and furniture; washing windows; cleaning restrooms; and restocking paper and soap supplies.Perform minor maintenance and repair work, such as replacing lights, ballasts, and light repair of faucet washers or toilet tank floats.Perform groundskeeping and general light maintenance including pressure washing, debris removal, replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities.Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include recommending or submitting work orders and checking supply levels.Empty trash receptacles, dispose trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bag trash for proper disposal.Assist with inventory of equipment and products.Provide custodial support during Tribal and local events, setting up and breaking down.Ensure that the Blyn Campus grounds, landscaping, and parking areas are clean and orderly, removing any trash and debris.Maintain and clean the Kiosk areas which includes the removal of birds’ nests, cobwebs, and droppings.Clean windows and doors regularly.Secure and lock the Blyn Campus buildings daily, and after evening events.Assist with snow removal and deicing.Adhere to all JST policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, and work practices as described in the Occupational Exposure Control Plan.Perform additional duties as assigned.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentComputer proficiency in Microsoft Suite.Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Exceptional interpersonal communications skills, including verbal and written communication to effectively interface with guests and/or team members.Strong organization, prioritization, and multiple-tasking skills.Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.Highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive manner.Demonstrate initiative, work independently with little supervision.Ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned.Valid Driver’s License.Must be able to successfully pass criminal background investigation.Preferred QualificationsEffective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Two (2) years of custodial, maintenance or related experience.Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, route oversite, and proper use of protective wear.American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply.Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsAbility and willingness to work outside in various weather conditions, through all seasons.Ability and willingness to work under extreme cold and hot conditions, high and precarious places, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and vibration.Ability to shovel mulch, and dig holes for planting and transplanting, deadhead and prune, and pull weeds, while working on uneven terrain.Must be available to work any shift (to include all hours, weekends, and/or holidays as job duties require).Must be able to lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.Physical ability to access all areas of the property applicable to your position.Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, squatting and twisting without restriction.Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity; ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.Must have the ability to reach at or below/above shoulder level on a continuous basis.Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina, a proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with customers, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.Join the Jamestown S’Klallam TribeIf you're looking for a hands-on position where your work directly contributes to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming campus, we invite you to apply.
