Job summary

Daifuku North America is hiring a Fabricator for our 3rd shift in Indiana. You will operate fabricating and machine shop equipment to cut, shape, and bend metal parts for industrial automation projects.

The role requires reading blueprints and specifications, setting up machines, measuring pieces, and ensuring quality. Candidates should be able to read measurements, pass QA checks, and be willing to work Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of standard and metric measurements.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Team orientation.
• LOTO certification required.
• Crane operation certification required.
• Forklift operation experience preferred but not required.
• Availability to work on Saturdays as needed.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication shop and machine shop machinery and equipment to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.
• Read job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale or template.
• Position workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
• Measure workpiece dimensions to ensure accuracy.
• Detect workpiece defects and machine malfunctions.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust and scale from workpieces.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
• Comply with Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
• Contribute to sustainable process outputs and continuous improvement.
