Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Pullman, WA, seeks a Software Services Engineer to help customers adopt and integrate SEL software platforms starting with Blueframe.

You will turn day-one deployments into long-term operational success by solving problems, building reusable assets, and collaborating with SEL teams. You will learn SEL technologies on the job, mentor teammates, and contribute to a growing library of practices, tools, and runbooks while engaging directly with utility

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of hands-on technical experience in software engineering, systems integration, automation, IT infrastructure, or related areas.
• Ability to troubleshoot multi-layer systems (software, networking, data, configuration).
• Willingness to learn Blueframe, DTS, Code Studio, and SEL technologies relevant to Software Services engagements.
• Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort working directly with customers and collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

• Support customer engagements from early discovery through deployment, testing, and operationalization.
• Design, configure, deploy, and validate Blueframe-based solutions in customer environments, including centralized and virtualized deployments.
• Work with customers to understand integration needs and connect Blueframe with existing systems.
• Troubleshoot systems spanning software, networks, virtual environments, device communications, and data flows; communicate findings clearly.
• Create architecture notes, deployment guides, configuration references, runbooks, and customer-facing materials.
• Contribute to reusable assets like templates, dashboards, and patterns.
• Collaborate with project managers, software services teammates, and cross-functional partners across the engagement lifecycle.
