Job summary

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted EMT certification (National Registry or Virginia).
• Knowledge of fire and emergency medical services standards, competency-based education, and accreditation standards.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to use educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Instruct EMT and firefighter students through psychomotor skill development, acquisition, reinforcement, mastery, and evaluation.
• Provide simulation activities, tutoring, and remedial assistance; give feedback to program faculty.
• Maintain, inventory, and replace/reset lab equipment and spaces; support instructor-to-student ratios.
• May serve as lead lab instructor/mentor to orient new lab instructors and support department policies.
