Guided Search Partners is actively seeking a Blow Molding Process Technician (Extrusion) to support a fast-paced plastics manufacturing operation in Houston. You will help ensure blow molding equipment operates safely and efficiently, support mold changes and startups, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to a culture of quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in plastics manufacturing, blow molding, mold setup, or related production.
• Hands-on experience with continuous extrusion blow molding, preferably involving accumulator-head technology.
• Working knowledge of blow molding equipment, auxiliary systems, material handling, and basic hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Experience with mold and tooling changes, machine adjustments, startups, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with pneumatic tools, blenders, grinders, thermolators, and material additive systems.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, process documentation, and quality specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including different shifts and occasional weekends, as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Optimize Production Performance: Support daily manufacturing operations by troubleshooting equipment, resolving process issues, and helping improve productivity and performance metrics.
• Troubleshoot Equipment: Identify and correct issues with blow molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and related production systems.
• Support Machine Setups: Assist with mold and tooling changes, machine startups and shutdowns, material changes, and equipment adjustments.
• Maintain Process Quality: Perform first-piece inspections following startups, color changes, and extended machine downtime to ensure products meet established specifications.
• Partner with Engineering: Work closely with process engineers, production supervisors, and operations teams to resolve technical challenges and improve manufacturing processes.
• Maintain Equipment and Safety Standards: Follow established procedures, verify safety devices and machine guarding are functioning properly, and report hazards or equipment concerns.
• Monitor Materials and Auxiliary Equipment: Support resin handling and material preparation while monitoring equipment such as thermolators, blenders, grinders, and additive systems.
• Document Results: Complete inspection paperwork, collect production data, and maintain accurate records as required.
• Promote a Clean, Organized Workplace: Maintain a safe and orderly work environment while following all applicable safety and quality procedures.
