Job summary

Altium Packaging in Dallas, TX seeks an experienced technician to operate extrusion blow molding lines, perform mold changes, and set up new jobs from startup through production release.

You will optimize process parameters, monitor bottle quality, troubleshoot defects, and collaborate with Maintenance to keep lines running safely and efficiently. A strong safety mindset and continuous improvement focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in extrusion blow molding
• Experience with mold/tooling changeovers
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Ability to read and interpret quality specs and process docs
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Perform mold and tooling changeovers on extrusion blow molding equipment.
• Start up new molds and process until bottles meet quality specs.
• Obtain quality approval on new setups before production release.
• Establish and optimize processing parameters (temps, gaps, parison, shot size, cooling).
• Monitor bottle quality and adjust to meet wall thickness, weight, and appearance specs.
• Troubleshoot defects related to processing, mold/tooling, or equipment.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for repairs and corrective actions.
• Train and support operators on operation and quality expectations.
