Bloomington Transit is hiring Bus Drivers in Bloomington, IN. We are seeking dependable, motivated, customer-focused individuals to join our team as Bus Drivers. Starting wage is $20.59 per hour with increases up to $30.28 per hour after training, and paid training to obtain your CDL with passenger endorsement.

Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including varying days, hours, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate transit buses along designated routes and schedules.


• Provide excellent customer service to passengers, including assisting with boarding and answering questions.


• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.


• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.


• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.


• Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly.


• Work varying days and hours, including weekends, as required by the schedule. Must be at least 21 years of age (as required by state law)


• Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (paid training provided)


• Willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening, BMV license check, and criminal background check


• Good driving record


• Fluency in English


• Strong commitment to safety and customer service


• No previous bus driving experience required

Starting training wage: $20.59 per hour, with progressive increases up to $30.28 per hour.

Paid training program to help you earn your CDL with passenger endorsement
