Job summary

Versiti Blood Research Institute is seeking a manufacturing technician to prepare quality biological blood components under SOPs and regulatory standards. This role involves early morning shifts, adherence to production schedules, and maintaining strict quality controls in a fast-paced lab setting.

The incumbent will operate centrifuges, be trained on BECS and Title21 systems, and collaborate with teams to meet production goals while complying with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Education/experience as listed: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• < 1 year experience related to blood component manufacturing is acceptable.
• Must read/interpret/write operating procedures and manuals.
• Proficient with computers and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Manufactures Red Blood Cells (RBCs), Fresh Frozen Plasma and Recovered Plasma.
• Manufactures Neonatal RBCs and prepares Pedipaks for Platelet Apheresis.
• Performs leukoreduction of Whole Bloods and RBCs.
• Manufactures Cryoprecipitate and related products; ensures proper labeling.
• Maintains storage procedures for RBCs, platelets, and frozen products.
• Performs equipment checks and QC documentation.
