Job summary

Versiti Blood Research Institute seeks a team-oriented technician to prepare quality biological blood components following SOPs and regulatory standards. The role involves manufacturing RBCs, plasma products, and neonatal RBCs with attention to accuracy and safety.

Schedule is set 2-3 weeks in advance, 3 days per week, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, totaling 24 hours weekly. Rotating weekends and holidays, with opportunities to grow within a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year to 1 year of related experience or training are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Manufactures Red Blood Cells (RBCs), Fresh Frozen Plasma and Recovered Plasma.
• Manufactures Neonatal RBCs and platelets; prepares sterile pedipaks.
• Performs leukoreduction of Whole Bloods and RBCs.
• Manufactures Cryoprecipitate, Pooled Cryoprecipitate and Cryo Reduced Plasma.
• Labels products to meet regulatory and inventory requirements.
• Manufactures additional specialty products as needed by customer base.
• Follows procedures for proper storage of RBCs, platelets and frozen products.
• Performs and documents equipment function checks and QC as required.
• Maintains productivity to achieve production goals.
• Works weekend, holiday rotations and on-call as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
