The duties include handling centrifuge preparation, component extraction procedures, labeling, computer data entry, shipping, and ongoing quality control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months related experience preferred.
• Stable work history.
• Must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Organizational skills to maintain productive workflow.
• Ability to work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• Balance and load products for separation into centrifuge accurately.
• Follow procedures for extraction of blood components for highest quality.
• Label and store all components produced with precision.
• Enter product data into computer daily with accuracy.
• Perform shipping of salvage plasma to vendors.
• Prepare special blood components as required.
• Maintain daily QC and equipment calibration.
