Job summary

The American Red Cross in Madison, WI is seeking a Distribution Technician to receive, process, pack and ship blood products for hospital orders. You will triage orders by date and time, select and carefully pack life-saving products with the correct temperature control for safe transport.

You will communicate with hospital clients, volunteers and vendors, maintain product records for traceability, and may make hospital deliveries as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years' experience in a regulatory, distribution or manufacturing environment is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good computer skills, attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision‑making skills.
• Position may require a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, pack and ship blood products for hospital orders.
• Triage orders by date and time needed and ensure proper temperature-controlled packaging.
• Communicate with hospital clients, volunteers and vendors; maintain traceability records.
• Perform data entry and maintain manufacturing records; support other distribution tasks.
• May make hospital deliveries as assigned.
