Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing under the supervision of a Medical Technologist. The MLT will operate and maintain instrumentation, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accuracy and compliance with CLIA and CAP standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, quality control, and timely reporting of test results to support patient care, with a schedule of 7am-7pm on weekdays at the TGH Main Campus in Tampa, FL.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in a relevant science field.
• Recent graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized tests per procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze specimens, record and report results accurately for diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot issues using independent judgment.
• Follow QA, QA and safety protocols including infection control and hazardous materials handling.
