Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. You will collect blood specimens via venipuncture, prioritize physician orders, and work as an interface between patients and laboratory staff to support accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Required Education: High school diploma or GED
• Preferred Education: Completion of a phlebotomy training program
• Preferred Certification: ASPT or ASCP certification
• Preferred Experience: One-year previous experience in a hospital laboratory, clinic, or physician practice

Responsibilities

• Represents the hospital and department by serving as an interface between the client (patient, physicians, nursing, etc.), and laboratory technical areas.
• Performs venipuncture techniques involved in the collection of blood specimens from patients for laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Ensures proper patient care by prioritizing physician orders and collecting blood as required.
