Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a manufacturing technician to process blood products and samples. You will scan units, convert to transfusable components, and ensure accurate documentation in a fast-paced production environment.

You will support a team, follow safety and quality standards, and may work a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays. A high school diploma and at least 2 years' related experience are preferred; strong computer and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Good computer skills and ability to use programs and laboratory equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet quality and production goals while prioritizing workload and documenting accurately.
• Perform inventory management throughout manufacturing and distribution processes.
• Enter data and operate computer programs for production, labeling, storage, and sample tube management.
• Analyze information from other departments to meet timelines.
• Perform complex tasks such as pooled product manufacturing, freezing, washing, or deglycerolizing and pathogen reduction.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers, vendors, and volunteers.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule including weekends & holidays.
