Job summary

The American Red Cross in Fairfield, NJ is hiring for a phlebotomy-focused role, offering paid training and opportunities to grow within a humanitarian organization. You will support blood collection sites, ensure donor comfort, and follow safety procedures while collecting lifesaving donations.

Position requires a High School diploma, valid driver's license, and strong customer service and computer skills. Starting pay is $21.19 per hour with variable scheduling across days and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long hours; minimum height requirement may apply for vehicle operation.
• Basic computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take time to personally connect with donors and explain the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Ensure blood collected meets goals and regulatory requirements for safe transfusion.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites.
