Job summary

The American Red Cross in Bloomington, Illinois is hiring for a phlebotomy-support role that trains on the job. You will assist with blood collection steps, help donors feel comfortable, and follow safety protocols.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided to grow your healthcare skills within the organization. You may drive vehicles and assist with setup/teardown at donation sites; a valid driver's license and physical stamina are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills required.
• A current, valid driver's license with good driving record required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting and long hours; ability to operate vehicles may be required (60 inch height minimum).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Personally connect with donors to explain the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Ensure blood collection meets goals and regulatory requirements, maintaining safety.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites.
