Job summary

UC Health is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Technologist II for the Blood Bank at University of Cincinnati Medical Center during third shift. The role performs routine and complex laboratory analyses, identifies and corrects problems, and requires independent judgment and interpretation.

Education requirements include an Associate degree in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, with ASCP certification (MT/MLS/MLT) required and a Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology is required.
• MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or MLT(ASCP) certification or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology is preferred.
• Knowledge of specimen requirements and familiarity with lab terminology, assay schedules and turnaround times.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory analyses.
• Identifies and corrects problems, developing alternatives when necessary.
• Maintains currency in the field through ongoing education and training.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment within training scope.
• Ensures quality control procedures are performed and documented.
