Qualifications

• Performs high/moderate complexity testing with accuracy and reliability.
• Evaluates specimens and test orders for acceptability.
• Maintains instrument calibration and document controls.
• Proficient with HIS and LIS software systems.

Responsibilities

• Specimen Processing and Accessioning: evaluates specimens and test orders for acceptability and accepts or rejects.
• Specimen Testing: follows approved standard operating procedures.
• Result Reporting: correlates test results with diagnosis and prior results as applicable.
• Computer Skills: uses HIS and LIS software in all job functions.
• Equipment Operation: operates, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment per SOPs.
• Quality Control: follows QC policies and maintains calibration records.
• Proficiency Testing: participates in PT and handles samples like patient specimens.
• Inventory Management: rotates stock and monitors expiration dates.
• Training: assists with training of team members and students.
• Safety: follows Atlantic Health safety procedures.
