Job summary

Actalent in Memphis, TN is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for a contract role in a Level One Trauma Center Blood Bank. The position involves high-volume donor sample testing and shift work, including weekends, with 4,000+ samples processed daily.

The role requires MT licensure in Tennessee, ASCP/AMT certification, and proficiency in PCR DNA, urinalysis, molecular testing, and chemistry. EMR experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical laboratory testing.
• Proficiency in PCR DNA, urinalysis, molecular testing, and chemistry.
• Active ASCP or AMT Certification.
• Tennessee licensure as a Medical Technologist.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Follow written procedures for sample handling and processing.
• Perform low, moderate, and high complexity testing of donor samples.
• Review and evaluate test results and records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Notify supervision of any problems affecting testing performance or test result reporting.
• Perform quality control, calibration, and instrument maintenance activities.
• Assist management with the completion of error and accident reports.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
