Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Pathology Technologist to perform complex clinical laboratory tests within the Pathology Department. You will calibrate instruments, run quality controls, and report results to physicians, while maintaining SOPs and contributing to test method development.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a lab science and ASCP certification or eligibility, with at least one year of clinical lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a lab science such as chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or closely related field or equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA standards.
• One year of clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
• National ASCP certification or eligibility in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, or related field is required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex clinical laboratory tests in one or more sections of the Pathology Department.
• Calibrate instruments, perform quality controls, and report results to physicians.
• Prepare solutions, reagents and stains per standard procedures; assist with new tests and method development.
• Coordinate with physicians and students/residents; participate in training of new staff.
