The American Red Cross in Douglasville, GA is seeking an IRL Technologist to perform donor and patient testing, interpret results for donor-recipient compatibility, and support transfusion services. You will resolve compatibility issues and provide reference services to hospitals while handling automated and manual test procedures.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science or chemistry
• MT(ASCP) preferred or equivalent certification
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in blood banking or transfusion services
• State license may be required where applicable
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work in a team

Responsabilidades

• Resolving compatibility problems and providing reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services
• Performing automated and manual test procedures on blood samples
• Managing receipt, coordination, shipment, and transport of donor blood samples and documenting issues
• Managing reagent inventory and ensuring proper inspection and preparation
• Consulting with staff at medical facilities to resolve complex serologic problems
