OneBlood in Tampa, FL is seeking a full-time laboratory technician to perform routine unregulated tasks in a blood bank setting. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex instructions.

Shift is 1st 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, five days a week with weekend/holiday rotation; a weekend differential of $2.00 per hour may apply based on hours worked.

Applicants should have a high school diploma; prior blood bank or laboratory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Prior blood bank or laboratory experience preferred.
• Ability to report to work during disaster or emergency; follow complex instructions; communicate effectively.

Responsabilités

• Receives and processes samples to determine suitability.
• Prepares and maintains laboratory records and blood shipping forms.
• Issues blood and blood components.
• Inspects blood units returned from hospitals and determines suitability.
• Maintains component inventory and recalls.
• Centrifuges whole blood to produce components.
• Performs unregulated laboratory testing (pH, bacterial culturing).
• Performs quality control as directed.
• Monitors testing processes to identify errors and take corrective actions.
• Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Utilizes computer systems to obtain data.
