Blockchain Security Researcher - United States

Remote - United States

OpenZeppelin’s professional expertise integrates through clients’ development lifecycles, so teams can plan, code, audit, deploy and operate projects faster and more safely.

What you'll be doing
  1. Review smart contracts for the top decentralized applications before they get launched and present findings and vulnerabilities that the protocol can have to the client.
  2. Team up with one or two auditors and review code line by line and try to hack it.
  3. Work on proposals to make code easier to understand and use in the future by sharing good practices.
  4. Conduct open-ended research around cutting edge blockchain technologies.
  5. Paid time to conduct research and contribute to OpenZeppelin’s projects and knowledge.
You have
  1. Hands-on and practical experience in one or more of the following areas: software development, cyber security, mathematics.
  2. Experience with public Ethereum or other EVM-based blockchains.
  3. Knowledge in the Solidity programming language.
  4. Intellectual curiosity and the capability to learn complex topics.
  5. The ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  6. An advanced English level and great communication skills (oral and written).
  7. Passion about the blockchain space and decentralization.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team.
Nice to have
  1. Experience performing code reviews.
  2. Experience in financial engineering and/or capital markets microstructure.
Logistics

Our interview process takes place on Zoom and tends to consist of the following stages:

  1. Recruiter call (45 minutes)
  2. Leadership interview (60 minutes)
  3. Team member interview (1 hour)
  4. Paid work test (lasting up to 10 days)
  5. Reference checks
