Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking an Engineer, Blockchain Platforms to build and integrate the blockchain infrastructure that underpins our digital asset custody and tokenization platforms. This hands-on role covers Layer‑1 integration, core infrastructure components, wallet services, and custody workflows.

The engineer will work with custody and security teams to ensure reliable, observable, and production‑ready blockchain interactions in a fast-paced financial technology environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with blockchain or distributed ledger systems.
• Strong understanding of Layer‑1 blockchain protocols and transaction lifecycles.
• Proficiency in Go, Java, Rust, or Python.
• Ability to work across custody, security, and platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Integrate Schwab systems with Layer‑1 blockchains and extend capabilities for custody and resilience.
• Design and build core blockchain infrastructure services (indexers, explorers, APIs).
• Develop wallet services, signing workflows, and custody‑related integrations.
• Collaborate with Crypto Custody Lead Engineers and Crypto Security Engineers to ensure security and production readiness.
