Job summary

Charles Schwab is hiring an Engineer, Blockchain Platforms to build and integrate the blockchain infrastructure that underpins our digital asset custody and tokenization platforms. This hands-on role focuses on Layer-1 integration, wallet services, and custody workflows, working closely with Crypto Custody and Security engineers to ensure secure, observable, and production-ready systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building or integrating blockchain or distributed ledger systems.
• Strong understanding of Layer-1 blockchain protocols and transaction lifecycles.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, and infrastructure components.
• Proficiency in Go, Java, Rust, Python, or similar.
• Ability to work effectively across custody, security, and platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Layer-1 Blockchain Integration & Platforms: integrate with Layer-1 blockchains and support custody needs.
• Blockchain Infrastructure Components: design core services like indexers, explorers, data pipelines, APIs.
• Wallet Architecture & Development: contribute to wallet services and signing workflows.
• Custody-Related Blockchain Workflows: support on-chain transactions and reconciliation.
