Job summary

Cari Network is building a real-time, on-chain payments layer with private ZKsync-based L2. You will improve the transaction pipeline, extend smart contracts, and ensure regulatory-compliant audit trails while collaborating with senior engineers on a fintech-grade platform.

Join a remote-first team shaping a new financial infrastructure. You’ll work across backend services and Solidity contracts, contributing to custody integrations and governance patterns to strengthen transaction integrity.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of backend software engineering experience, with 1–2 years on EVM-compatible blockchain systems.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript; familiarity with Effect (effect.ts) or a comparable functional system is a plus.
• Working familiarity with EVM transaction mechanics: ABI encoding, nonce management, gas estimation, revert handling, and event decoding.
• Some production experience with Solidity, including exposure to upgradeable proxy patterns (UUPS) and OpenZeppelin contract libraries.
• Exposure to institutional custody or key management APIs is a strong plus.
• Understanding of idempotency, at-least-once delivery, and crash recovery concepts in async systems.
• Comfortable extending existing patterns while growing toward independent ownership of larger features.

Responsibilities

• Implement components of the transaction lifecycle within the pipeline architecture.
• Build features in the signing pipeline to handle throughput and rate limits.
• Implement payment integrity controls and co-signer policy evaluation logic.
• Extend Solidity contracts following upgrade-safety, storage-layout, and governance conventions.
• Contribute to custody platform authorization integration and co-signer agent functionality.
• Build structured audit trail logging from origination through on‑chain execution for evidentiary compliance.
• Contribute to the async transaction queue with tiered SLAs and per-bank quotas.
• Write high-coverage tests across backend services and smart contracts.
• Participate in on-call and escalate novel failure modes to senior engineers.
