Job summary

Gulf Copper LLC seeks a senior manager to lead Block Steel and Hot Outfitting activities on our shipbuilding projects. You will direct fabrication, assembly and integrated outfitting work, ensuring safety, schedule adherence and budget compliance across multiple units.

You will develop shop floor schedules, coordinate with Project Management and Production Planning, and manage workforce planning and risk mitigation while coordinating with downstream departments and engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of seven (7) years in shipbuilding, structural steel fabrication, or heavy industrial production, with direct block construction and hot outfitting experience.
• Experience managing shop floor production workforce and schedule for a complex project.
• Journeyman-level welding/fabrication credential or equivalent hands-on trade background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe execution of Block Steel and Hot Outfitting production activities.
• Direct and manage structural steel block fabrication, assembly, and integrated hot outfitting work for newbuilding projects.
• Develop and execute detailed shop floor schedule in coordination with PM and NB Production Planning.
• Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and compliant with contractual and class society requirements.
• Coordinate handoffs to downstream functions to optimize sequencing and resources.
• Track and report cost, schedule, and performance metrics to PM and Planning Dept.
