Job summary

Salm Partners in Denmark, WI is seeking a Backup Blender Operator to handle meat formulation and blending, with sanitation duties across the blending and seasoning rooms. The role follows a 6am–6pm 2-2-3 schedule, requiring adherence to GMP, safety, and USDA guidelines.

The position involves assembling equipment, selecting spices, logging ingredients, and ensuring batch traceability through proper documentation, while supporting training and cross-department tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 6 months experience as Backup Blender Operator.
• 3+ years in USDA-regulated environment preferred.
• Experience in meat blending or ready-to-eat processed meats is strongly preferred.
• Experience formulating sausage to fat/moisture levels with inclusions is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Verify the production menu and parameters before start-up.
• Assemble and set up blending equipment for production.
• Identify spices and ingredients and deliver to the Seasoning Room.
• Verify and log raw meat vat information and ingredients.
• Load raw meat from hopper to the blender.
• Add ingredients per established recipe requirements.
• Monitor the blend during mixing and verify consistency for stuffing.
• Generate and apply blend labels for traceability.
• Complete batch sheets and rework logs.
• Perform sanitation and Changeover tasks and operate forklifts as needed.
• Follow GMP and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
