Job summary

Piping Rock Health Products, INC. is seeking a 2nd shift Blending Operator to manufacture a variety of dry powders within set specifications.

This role ensures blend quality, completes all paperwork accurately, and maintains sanitation of the blender and blending area. Responsibilities include verifying raw materials, adding materials in order, documenting the process, and coordinating with QA to uphold FDA and GMP standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year experience in a manufacturing environment with blending powders or liquids.
• Ability to use calculator and other measurement instruments.
• Basic computer skills a plus.
• Must read/write English and work autonomously.
• GMP requirements discussed during training.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture dry powders within set specifications.

Job description

Under the direction of the supervisor, the 2nd shift Blending Operator will manufacture a variety of dry powders within set specifications. The Blender is responsible for the quality of blends, accurate completion of all paperwork, sanitation of blender and blending area, and meeting all sample analysis requirements.

Responsibilities

• Verify all the raw materials are present and accurate in terms of quantity and lot information before starting the blending process
• Add each raw material in the specified order according to the blending instructions
• Discharge materials and powders into suitable containers and document the process
• Follow all blending instructions
• Communicates and works together with QA to maintain all standards and practices of the food industry in accordance with FDA and State regulations
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times
• Comply and adhere to all GMP's policies
• Accurately measure conversions and ingredients
• Clean and sanitize all equipment according to GMP standards
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred
• 1+ year experience in a manufacturing environment with blending powdered food or liquid materials
• Ability to use calculator and other measurement instruments
• Basic computer skills a plus
• Flexibility for overtime when needed
• Must be able to read/write English
• Ability to work autonomously and use resources available to complete tasks timely
• Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training

Role's Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish).
• Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours
