Job summary

Florida’s Natural Growers in Lake Wales, FL is seeking a Full-Time Blender for dayshift. You will blend juices, calculate batches, read recipes, and log lab results while adhering to GMP and HACCP procedures.

This role requires lifting up to 50 lb, Forklift experience preferred, and ability to work with minimal supervision. The position emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, and readiness to cross-train in other production areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to read, write and perform basic math including using a calculator.
• Able to convert weights and measures and convert case counts to gallons and batches.
• Able to read, interpret and follow written instructions including recipes, safety info, SOPs, SSOPs, HACCP, JSA's, GMPs.
• Must pass CRMA.
• Blending experience preferred.
• Two years working in a production/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• During clean-ups, must be able to lift 75 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to enter restricted spaces and obtain confined space certifications within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Pay: $23.94 to $26.58 per hour, based on qualifications

What You'll Do

• Blend product to desired specifications, on time, by assessing the daily production schedules and calculating batches needed for production by converting the number of cases needed into total gallons.
• Must communicate all deviations from the schedule and anything that would affect line efficiencies to T.R.
• Must use problem solving skills and learning ability to perform complex tank, hose/line hook-ups.
• Must read and interpret blend recipes, calculate ingredients and blend to specifications.
• Must perform all lab tests applicable to the blending process correctly, and log all analysis/ingredient information onto Blend Sheets manually and/or electronically.
• Must follow GMP, Safety, SSOP, SOP and HACCP procedures.
• Must use mechanical aptitude to facilitate trouble shooting valves, pumps, meters, solenoids and valve matrix.

• Attend Team meetings and rotate into the various roles on the Team.
• Cross train in other areas of the B.U. Train new Blenders as required.
• Communicate (verbally, in writing and via e-mail) with team members, other departments and management to ensure that all demands and requirements are met.
• Must wear slip resistant, steel toed shoes/boots.
• Perform tasks in outside tank area.
• Regular attendance required.
• Must interact cordially with co-workers.
• Perform any other duties assigned.
• Must have high level of mechanical aptitude to facilitate trouble shooting valves, pumps, meters, solenoids, and valve matrix.
• Must be able to solve problems and have the ability to perform complex hose/line connections to redirect flow as required.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize.
• Active participation and support of the plant Safety program is required.
• Due to the significant amount of steps/stairs contained in our production facility, employees must have the ability to navigate steps/stairs in a safe manner.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using a calculator.
• Must be able to convert weights and measures and convert case counts to gallons and batches.
• Must be able to read, interpret and follow written instructions, including recipes, safety information, SOP's, SSOP's, HACCP, JSA's, HACCP and GMP's.
• Must be able to learn and understand flow patterns and hook-ups required to get juice products from tanks and dumpers to blend tanks.
• Must be able to calculate ingredients needed to make required batches.
• MSSC, CQIA, or Lean Bronze preferred.
• Must pass CRMA.
• Blending experience preferred.
• Two years working in a production/manufacturing or related environment preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds.
• During general clean-ups and maintenance, must be able to lift 75 pounds with assistance from coworker.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to flavor juices/drinks including, but not limited to, citrus juices/drinks.
• Must be able to sense, by smell, whether or not juices/drinks are spoiled.
• Ability to enter restricted, confined spaces to include Blend tanks.
• Ability to pass the entrant and attendant certifications for confined space within 90 days of hiring for this position.
• Must have excellent problem solving skills and learning abilities.
• Must be able to learn all lab tests associated with blending.
• Must have a high level of mechanical aptitiude.
• Must communicate well, verbally and in writing.
• Must learn how to train new Blenders.
• Must be willing to cross train in other jobs.
• Must be able to follow instructions and work with minimum supervision.
• Proven ability to multi-task required.
• Must be able to maintain, during the first 90 days in this position an FNG Class B Forklift license and Ottawa driver certificate (CDL preferred).
• Must be able to maintain all required records including but not limited to: HACCP, Biosecuirty, OSHA, Sanitation, and GMP.
