Job summary

TIG Distributing Inc. seeks a Blend Technician to accurately weigh, measure and blend ingredients according to formulas, schedules and quality standards.

You will read blend sheets, prepare blends, verify materials, and document batches with traceability while maintaining clean, safe equipment and following GMPs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of experience in food manufacturing or blending, batching, or mixing.
  • Strong math and measurement skills and ability to read scales and follow recipes.
  • Ability to maintain accurate production records and follow safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and hygiene in a food-grade environment preferred.
  • Willingness to wear PPE and work safely in a production setting.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blend sheets, work orders and production instructions to prepare accurate ingredient blends.
  • Weigh and measure ingredients using scales, ensuring precision and consistency.
  • Operate and monitor blending to achieve proper mixing of ingredients.
  • Verify raw materials, check expiration dates, and meet quality standards.
  • Label and document batches with production and lot tracking for traceability.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of blending areas and equipment.
  • Follow allergen control and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
  • Record production data including usage, batch numbers, yields and downtime.
  • Assist in inventory management and report low stock levels.
  • Coordinate with QA, sanitation and packaging teams to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and proper lifting techniques.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings.

Job Summary

The Blend Technician is responsible for accurately weighing, measuring, and blending ingredients according to specific formulas, production schedules, and quality standards. This role is essential in ensuring that products meet consistency, safety, and regulatory standards.

General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blend sheets, work orders, and production instructions to prepare accurate ingredient blends.
  • Weigh and measure food-grade ingredients using scales and other measuring tools, ensuring precision and consistency.
  • Operate and monitor blending to ensure proper mixing of ingredients.
  • Verify that raw materials used are correct, within expiration dates, and meet quality standards.
  • Label and document all batches with detailed production and lot tracking for traceability.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of blending areas and equipment before, during, and after operations.
  • Follow allergen control and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
  • Perform in-process quality checks and report any inconsistencies or deviations to the supervisor or QA team.
  • Record production data including ingredient usage, batch numbers, yields, and downtime.
  • Assist in inventory management of raw materials and report low stock levels to purchasing or inventory control.
  • Coordinate with QA, sanitation, and packaging teams to ensure seamless production flow.
  • Adhere to safety protocols including proper handling of equipment and lifting techniques.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings related to production efficiency and product quality.
Schedule

Monday through Friday, 6:30AM - 2:30AM

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of experience in food manufacturing or a similar role involving blending, batching, or mixing.
  • Strong math and measurement skills; ability to read scales, calculate ratios, and follow recipes accurately.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate production records.
  • Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and hygiene requirements in a food-grade environment preferred.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols.
