Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc is seeking a Blaster Trainee-Construction in the New York area. This is an on-the-job apprenticeship with pay starting at $25/hr and up, DOE, plus a daily travel stipend. You will assist the Blaster with drilling and blasting coordination, while learning blasting techniques and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience working with drills and explosives or military explosive handling.
• Able to travel out of town as needed.
• Must be able to pass ATF screenings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily drilling & blasting activities with the Blaster in charge.
• Train to become proficient in blasting techniques.
• Develop understanding of explosives product use and applications.
• Maintain daily blasting production schedule.
• Assist with site security and safety policy adherence.
• Attend company meetings and participate in heads-up briefings.
• Assist with seismograph setup and pattern layout.
