Job summary

Ducommun, Inc. in Parsons, KS, is seeking a Blaster to operate small and large blasters, finish parts, and prepare dies for production. You will load objects by hand, cart, or forklift while following safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities include inspecting work, managing sand, disposing of hazardous waste, and keeping the blasting area clean. A high school diploma and up to 3 years in related work are required, with forklift capability and basic computer skills preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with up to 3 years in a similar role.
• Forklift operation ability and safety awareness.
• Ability to read and follow internal procedures and policies.
• Willingness to learn new screens and simple software with training.

Responsibilities

• Loads objects into blasters by hand, cart, or forklift.
• Operates the small sandblaster.
• Operates the large sandblaster.
• Examines objects to ensure conformance to work order or standard.
• Disposes of dirty sand in waste bin.
• Sweeps and cleans up sand residue daily.
• Refills blasters with sand as necessary.
• Responsible for proper handling of hazardous waste generated in the area.
• Other duties as assigned.
