Job summary

Duininck is seeking a blade operator to support asphalt and roadwork across Texas and Oklahoma, contributing to critical infrastructure projects with a focus on safety and efficiency. You will operate blade equipment to meet grade specifications, coordinate with crew members, and perform routine maintenance on-site.

The role requires willingness to travel throughout Texas, adherence to safety standards, and teamwork to ensure projects run smoothly and safely in diverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates blade to achieve the specified grading.
• Reads grade stakes and uses grade checker, laser, or GPS to maintain grade.
• Coordinates with crew using hand signals and follows safety procedures.
• Performs daily equipment inspection and maintenance, including fluid checks and lubrication.
• Reports maintenance needs to shop and keeps equipment clean for transport.
• Keeps jobsite orderly and follows supervisor's instructions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Safely operates blade to achieve the specified grading.
• Reads grade stakes and works with grade checker, laser, or GPS to maintain grade.
• Works closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that machine is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
• Reports to shop when equipment needs maintenance and repair.
• Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
• Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
• Follows Supervisor’s instructions closely.

• Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
• An unwavering focus on safety.
• Willingness to travel throughout Texas.

Work Environment | Physical Demands

• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly work extended overtime hours, outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions at all project locations.
