Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking two Transportation Technicians to support the Bituminous Section within the Bituminous Mixtures Laboratory. You will perform complex laboratory testing, prepare and analyze test samples, and ensure accurate data reduction and documentation, while assisting with equipment calibration and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience performing complex laboratory testing and calibrating equipment.
• Knowledge of materials testing principles and interpretation of test results.
• Familiar with laboratory safety practices and documentation standards.
• Ability to operate lab software and data management tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex bituminous mixture testing in a lab environment.
• Prepare QPL asphalt mixtures with volumetric design.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment calibrations and records.
• Assist with daily lab operations, scheduling, and training.
• Lead or mentor others in Bituminous Mixtures Laboratory tasks.
