Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks two Transportation Technicians to support the Bituminous Section in the Bituminous Mixtures Laboratory. You will perform complex laboratory testing, prepare and analyze test samples, and document data while assisting with equipment calibration and maintenance to meet standards.

Responsibilities include testing, QA, data reporting, and supporting daily lab operations.

Qualifications

• Experience performing complex lab testing and data handling.
• Knowledge of bituminous materials testing principles.
• Familiarity with quality assurance and lab safety practices.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain records.
• Proficiency with technical reporting and data analysis.
• Ability to calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex bituminous mixture testing in a lab setting.
• Prepare QPL asphalt mixtures as requested.
• Execute designated test methods in the Bituminous Mixtures Lab.
• Assist with equipment calibration, verification, and records.
• Handle proficiency samples and participate in inspections.
• Operate a PC with specialized software for testing equipment.
• Support daily lab operations including scheduling and training.
