Job summary

Hut8 is seeking a Bitcoin Mining Strategy Associate in Miami to drive strategic growth through market analysis, deal evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration. You will model financial implications of acquisitions, support due diligence, and prepare materials for leadership review.

You will work with senior leadership and internal teams to identify opportunities, structure deals, and monitor performance of the mining fleet to maximize profitability in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field. An MBA preferred.
• 2+ years of corporate development, investment banking, or related field.
• Direct Bitcoin/mining/energy exposure encouraged but not required.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to present complex information clearly.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Bitcoin Mining Strategy Associate plays a critical role in driving the company's strategic growth initiatives. This position involves leading complex market analyses, spearheading mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, supporting strategic investments and developing strategic partnerships. The principal collaborates closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to identify and execute high-impact opportunities, perform detailed financial evaluations, and deliver strategic recommendations.

Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:

Strategic Market Analysis:

• Lead comprehensive market research to identify industry trends, competitive dynamics, and potential growth opportunities.
• Develop and present market analyses and strategic insights to senior leadership to inform business strategy.

Financial Evaluation and Modeling:

• Create and manage sophisticated financial models to evaluate the financial implications of potential ASIC acquisitions, strategic investments, operating fleet optimizations and other business opportunities.
• Conduct thorough due diligence on strategy, including financial analysis and risk assessment.

Strategic Initiatives:

• Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities, from initial screening to integration planning, and through implementation.
• Prepare detailed investment memoranda, board presentations, and other documentation to support decision-making processes.
• Recommend operating enhancements with a goal of profit maximization of operating ASIC mining fleet.

Deal Structuring and Negotiation:

• Assist in structuring and negotiating deal terms, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Manage relationships with external parties, including key partners, consultants, and legal counsel, to facilitate transaction processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Partner with internal teams, including finance, legal, operations, and corporate development, to ensure seamless execution and integration of strategic initiatives.
• Act as a liaison between the ASIC Compute Strategy team and other departments to foster collaboration and alignment on strategic goals.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

• Track and report on the performance of and strategic decisions for the operating ASIC Mining fleet, providing insights and recommendations for future opportunities.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate progress and outcomes to senior management.

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is highly preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or a related field.
• Direct experience in Bitcoin, Bitcoin mining, or energy are a encouraged but not a requirement.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex informationclearly and persuasively.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projectssimultaneously and meet deadlines.
