Joe Coffee is seeking Baristas in Training (BITs) eager to learn about specialty coffee and grow into certified Joe Coffee baristas at the Roastery Cafe in Long Island City, NY.

You will deliver warm, thoughtful customer service, operate the POS, and help prepare beverages and food to company standards while training for full certification. This part-time role pays $17 per hour plus tips and offers a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Compensation $17 per hour + tips

Key Responsibilities

As a Barista in Training, you will support daily cafe operations while building the foundational skills needed to become a certified Joe Coffee barista. Responsibilities include:

• Deliver welcoming, inclusive, and attentive customer service that reflects Joe Coffee’s hospitality standards


• Accurately operate the POS system, including order entry, cash handling, and payment processing


• Prepare non-espresso beverages and food items according to company recipes and quality standards (drip coffee, cold brew, tea, matcha, seasonal drinks, etc.)


• Maintain cafe cleanliness, organization, and food safety by following established cleaning and sanitation standards


• Actively participate in training, coaching, and feedback to build skills and prepare for full barista certification
