Job summary

The Cowlitz Indian Tribe is seeking a frontline hospitality team member to ensure the guest experience in education, delivery and presentation of bistro food and beverage. You will greet guests, explain the menu, take orders and deliver meals with care.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year in food and beverage, the ability to work 21+ and in a smoking environment, and a commitment to health and safety. Barista experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
• At least 1 year of experience in a food and beverage setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
• Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Promotes superior guest service.
• Greets guests, explains bistro menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food, coffee, and beverages.
• Takes and delivers guest orders.
• Performs room service delivery duties and related duties.
• Presents check, accepts payment, and makes change.
• Performs side duties including cleaning tables and restocking items.
• Checks IDs for alcohol and ensures responsible service.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the overall guest experience as it relates to education, delivery and presentation of bistro food and beverage

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promotes superior guest service.
• Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
• Greets guests, explains bistro menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food, coffee, and additional beverage options.
• Takes and delivers guest orders.
• Performs all services as determined by establishment’s size and practices.
• Performs Room service delivery duties.
• Presents check, accepts payment, and makes change.
• Performs side duties including cleaning tables, restocking-items, filling ice bins, set up, cleaning using compounds.
• Has complete knowledge of the legal drinking age and procedures.
• Checks for acceptable identification for guests who appear to be under 30 years of age and are attempting to consume or purchase alcoholic beverages.
• Has knowledge of the effects of alcohol on the body and its ability to impair mental/physical abilities and thereby uses good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
