Responsibilities

• Assist food servers with drinks and clearing empty tables.
• Assist in the set‑up, breakdown, and maintenance of all dining areas.
• Ensure the dining room is fully supplied with appropriate and clean utensils, china, glassware, water, and ice.
• Stock and maintain the bus/dish cart station, keeping required supplies, silverware, dishes, and paper products available.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the bus station area(s); perform assigned opening duties to ensure a clean and well‑organized station with proper supply levels.
• Keep the dining room in a guest‑ready condition, including thorough housekeeping of floors, walls, chairs, and tables before, during, and after the shift.
• Remove unused settings, clear dirty dishes, and provide water, coffee, iced tea, and soda refills as requested.
• Pre‑bus excess dishes from tables throughout the shift.
• Approach tables promptly with a warm greeting and assist the food servers with guest service.
• Greet and seat guests when a host/hostess is not present.
• Clear and reset tables quickly as guests depart; remove all dishes and glassware from tables after the guest has left.
• Clean table surfaces and ensure proper sanitation.
• Set tables in the proper order according to company expectations.
• Use a tray or bus tub at all times to clear tables and deliver beverages.
• Transport dishes from the restaurant bus station area to the dishwashing area; sort and separate silverware, dishes, and glassware in accordance with established guidelines.
• Empty and clean all restaurant trash cans as needed; routinely check trash cans for discarded tableware and kitchen utensils and retrieve and clean as necessary.
• Be familiar with menus and general restaurant operational policies to answer guests’ questions.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, using hands to manipulate items, reaching with arms, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
