Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott at NMSU is seeking a Bistro Bartender to mix and serve drinks, greet guests, and support bar and restaurant duties in a fast-paced setting.

The role emphasizes excellent guest service, accurate POS transactions, adherence to alcohol laws, and teamwork to maintain a clean, well-stocked bar and dining area. Experience preferred; NM Alcohol Server Certification required.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Alcohol Server Certification in New Mexico.
• Previous Bartending Experience Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm welcome, remain guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by handling bar transactions and food orders in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner.
• Ring drink orders into POS immediately, collect payment, and make correct change.
• Mix, garnish and pour drinks according to standard recipes or portions, referring to recipe cards as needed.
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks.
• Adheres to proper food handling when assisting with serving or preparing food orders. The Bartender assists in food preparation and serving as needed.
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Address any guest concerns in a calm and professional manner focused on creating a positive guest experience and involve a manager when necessary.
• Perform server functions for all food orders.
• Plan and present bar menu.
• Keep bar stocked with necessary beverages, food items, paper supplies, utensils, ice, and other supplies at all times.
• Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked.
• Keep work station clean and well organized.
• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
