Catawba Valley Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care under RN supervision. This role also serves as Birthing Center tech and Unit Secretary, with opportunities to act as a surgical assistant and circulate nurse helper.
Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience is required; no degree is necessary.
Provides patient care duties for patients of all ages, infants through adults under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Serves as a Surgical Technologist, Birthing Center tech and Unit Secretary. Provides care preoperatively, perioperatively, and postoperatively within scope of practice and hospital policy and procedures. Also functions as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse. Performs a variety of organizational, administrative, and communication functions.
Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology, military experience, or at least two years of clinical surgical technology experience with no degree.
No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
