Job summary

Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Birthing Center. The role requires holistic nursing care, documentation, and collaboration with the care team to support mother and baby from admission through discharge.

The position offers rotating 12-hour shifts (7p–7:30a), with every other weekend and rotating holidays, and a pay range of $38.36–$81.23 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required within 6 months.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention) within 3 months of position and renew annually.
• Successful passage of Cape Cod Hospital Pharmacology exam.
• Fetal Monitor Course attended every 2 years.
• American Academy of Pediatric Neonatal Resuscitation certification within 6 months.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Recent OB experience within 2 years.
• Baby-Friendly competencies within 1 year of position.
• Scrub training for cesarean sections within 1 year of position.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care through the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Documents patient assessments and communicates data to the care team.
• Assumes role of charge nurse and guides staff as needed.
• Demonstrates proficiency in computerized nursing informatics and documentation.
• Participates in staff education and Nursing Committees as appropriate.
• Maintains safety and quality standards and supports patient confidentiality.
• Provides excellent service to patients, families and coworkers.
