Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, seeks a Birth Certificate Representative for the OB Support Center in Livingston, NJ. This part-time role processes certificates, enters data in the EBC system, prints legal birth certificates, and ensures signatures and timely submissions to the Department of Health.

The ideal candidate will work 7:00am-3:00pm, Monday–Friday, including weekends, in a fast-paced healthcare setting with strong customer service and collaboration.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

As Birth Certificate Representative, a typical day might include the following:

• Obtaining information for the proper completion of a Certificate of Live Birth for each infant delivered
• Entering all Birth Certificate information into the electronic Birth Certificate (EBC) computer system and prints a legal Birth Certificate
• Assuring signatures of parents, as mandated by the Department of Health regulations
• Ensuring timely completion and entry of all EBC into the system and transmitting birth certificate data to the Department of Health on a routine basis, in a timely manner

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a hospital or medical office setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, electronic medical records, physician order entry, and healthcare documentation is also preferred. Part Time from 7:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday including weekends.
