Job summary

The Midwives of New Jersey are seeking a compassionate and organized Midwife Assistant to support both the administrative and clinical operations of our midwifery practice. This hybrid role supports care from the front desk to the birth room in Madison and satellite sites.

Responsibilities include greeting clients, scheduling, maintaining records, and assisting during labor and immediate postpartum. Phlebotomy training is provided; evening/weekend on-call may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• BLS and NRP certifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Doula training (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
• Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and manage front desk operations
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and manage email communications
• Schedule and confirm client appointments
• Maintain client records and ensure confidentiality
• Maintain office supplies and cleanliness of office
• Provide support during labor/birth/immediate postpartum to clients and their partners, as well as Midwife and nursing staff
• Capture photos/videos for clients during labor/birth/immediate postpartum and create slideshow
• Basic phlebotomy (training provided)
