Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking an RN Team Lead to act as a formal and informal leader on the unit, coordinating daily planning and patient care with a focus on education, quality improvements, and evidence-based practice.

The role requires an RN license, at least 1 year of RN experience, and completion of a BSN within five years for ADN-holders. This non-exempt, full-time position includes 12-hour night shifts and TN sponsorship where applicable.

Qualifications

• RN with an associate degree or diploma in nursing.
• One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting.
• Current RN licensure in applicable state; Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• All ADN RNs starting 4/1/2020 or later must complete BSN within five years of start date.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, critical thinking; ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Flexibility to work days/evenings/nights/holidays/weekends and on-call.
• Computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate nursing care on the unit.
• Delegate patient care based on skill level, acuity, and resources.
• Support staff development, teaching, precepting, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate care and transitions, including patient/family education.
• Provide direct clinical care as needed and participate in nursing practice improvements.
• Align with Mayo Nursing Care Model and participate in evidence-based practice.
